The future is today ! You can benefit from stem cell treatment which will become standard treatment of the future today!
Stem cells are undifferentiated biological cells that can differentiate into specialized cells and can divide (throughmitosis) to produce more stem cells. They are found in multicellular organisms.
In mammals, there are two broad types of stem cells: embryonic stem cells, which are isolated from the inner cell mass of blastocysts, and adult stem cells, which are found in various tissues.
In adult organisms, stem cells and progenitor cells act as a repair system for the body, replenishing adult tissues. In a developing embryo, stem cells can differentiate into all the specialized cells (they are called pluripotent stem cells) ; but also maintain the normal turnover of regenerative organs, such as blood, skin, or intestinal tissues.
There are three accessible sources of autologous adult stem cells in humans:
1. Bone marrow, which requires extraction by harvesting, typically from the femur or hip bone,
2. Adipose tissue (lipid cells), which requires extraction by liposuction,
3. Blood, which requires extraction through apheresis , wherein blood is drawn (similar to a blood donation), and passed through a machine that extracts the stem cells and returns other portions of the blood to the donor.
Stem cells can also be taken from umbilical cord blood just after birth.
Human adipose tissue is a source which has the most frequent stem cells and can be harvested easily. Time magazine had chosen stem cell harvesting from adipose tissue as one of the most important 50 inventions in 2011. Even though it is commonly used in especially aesthetic surgery, it has a potential to spread to other fields.
In our clinic, stem cell treatments are applied with enrichment of stem cells that are acquired from adipose tissue of the patient, different from the embryonic and umbilical source harvesting which is still debatable because of ethical and legal problems, for only musculo-skeletal system diseases. This method is being applied successfully in centers of America and Europe. We use the common method called enriched PRP in which adipose tissue is extracted under local anesthesia and stem cell number is increased, and then injected through PRP to the area in which it will function as a matrix. The procedure is a comfortable application and it offers early return to routine work and sports after a short resting period. More information can be obtained through the meeting with your doctor.
